How to Block Snapchat on iPhone (iOS 27)

Snapchat how-to Screen Time iPhone

To block Snapchat on iPhone, use Screen Time on iOS 27: set a limit on the category it’s in and block snapchat.com under Apps & Websites. Snapchat doesn’t offer a self-set daily limit that we could find, so Screen Time is the built-in route. It’s free, you can undo it, and so this guide also covers the partner-held version with LockPact, a free-to-use app where a partner approves unlocks.

How do you block Snapchat on iPhone?

To block Snapchat, find its category in Time Allowances, set a limit or add it to a Screen Time Schedule window, and block snapchat.com under Apps & Websites. Open Settings, tap Screen Time, then Time Allowances, then Manage Categories, and tap a category to see whether Snapchat is listed. Apple’s iOS 27 guide says the allowance applies to an app and its website together.

  1. Open Settings → Screen Time → Time Allowances → Manage Categories.
  2. Tap a category and check whether Snapchat is listed.
  3. Set that category’s allowance, or add it to a window in Screen Time Schedule.
  4. For the website, open Settings → Screen Time → Apps & Websites, tap the add button, and enter snapchat.com.

On iOS 26 and earlier, use Settings → Screen Time → App Limits → Add Limit. Every path is in our Screen Time guide.

Why doesn’t it hold, and how do you fix that?

The same reason as any limit you set for yourself: you know the passcode, and the moment you want Snapchat is the moment you’re least likely to honor a rule you wrote earlier. Snapchat also runs on streaks and chats from friends, so the pull is social, which a time limit alone doesn’t touch.

Have a partner set your Screen Time passcode under Manage Screen Time → Lock Screen Time Settings, or lock Snapchat in LockPact, where a partner approves each unlock. If you bypass it in Settings, which Apple always allows, your partner is told.

It’s free to use, with optional Support LockPact and Willpower Waivers ($1.99–$9.99), and it needs a partner with an iPhone. For other apps, see how to lock apps on iPhone and how to block websites on iPhone.

Does Snapchat have its own time limit?

Not that we could find. Snapchat’s Family Center is a tool for parents of teens, with friend and chat visibility, location, content controls and My AI controls. We found no Snapchat help article describing a daily time limit for an adult’s own account. This guide is for adults managing their own phone, so Screen Time is the built-in way to put a limit on Snapchat.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I block Snapchat on iPhone?

Use Screen Time on iOS 27: find Snapchat's category under Time Allowances, set a limit or schedule for it, and block snapchat.com under Apps & Websites. A partner holding the passcode makes it harder to undo.

Does Snapchat have its own screen time limit?

We couldn't find a Snapchat help article describing a self-set daily limit for adults. Snapchat's Family Center is built for parents of teens. For a limit on your own account, use iPhone's Screen Time.

Can I block Snapchat so I can not undo it?

Not completely. Have someone else hold your Screen Time passcode, or lock Snapchat in LockPact, free to use, where a partner approves each unlock. Both are harder to bypass, never impossible.
