How to Block Reddit on iPhone (App and Website, iOS 27)

Reddit how-to Screen Time websites iPhone

To block Reddit on iPhone you have to block two things: the app and the website. On iOS 27, set a Screen Time limit for the app’s category and add reddit.com under Apps & Websites. Reddit doesn’t offer a daily limit we could find. Both steps are free and you can undo them, so this guide also covers the partner-held version with LockPact, a free-to-use app where a partner approves unlocks.

How do you block Reddit on iPhone, app and website?

Block the app through Screen Time’s categories and the website through Apps & Websites, because Reddit works in both places. Open Settings, tap Screen Time, then Time Allowances and Manage Categories to find which category holds Reddit, then add reddit.com in Apps & Websites. Doing only one leaves the other open and you’ll simply use that one.

  1. Open Settings → Screen Time → Time Allowances → Manage Categories.
  2. Tap a category and check whether Reddit is listed. Set that category’s allowance, or add it to a window in Screen Time Schedule.
  3. For the website, open Settings → Screen Time → Apps & Websites, tap the add button, and enter reddit.com.

On iOS 26 and earlier, use Settings → Screen Time → App Limits → Add Limit, plus Content & Privacy Restrictions → App Store, Media, Web & Games → Web Content for the site. See our Screen Time guide for each path, and how to block websites on iPhone for the website step in detail.

Why doesn’t it hold, and how do you fix that?

You set the rule and you hold the passcode, so you can undo it at the moment the thread you want is open. Reddit also has no natural stopping point: one more comment thread is always a tap away. That’s why the off-switch should belong to someone else, not to a stricter setting.

Have a partner set your Screen Time passcode under Manage Screen Time → Lock Screen Time Settings, or lock Reddit in LockPact, where a partner approves each unlock. LockPact can lock websites you choose as well as apps; Apple doesn’t document which browsers its shield covers, so test it in the browser you use.

If you bypass it in Settings, which Apple always allows, your partner is told. It’s free to use, with optional Support LockPact and Willpower Waivers ($1.99–$9.99), and it needs a partner with an iPhone. For more, see how to lock apps on iPhone.

Does Reddit have its own limit or break reminder?

Not that we could find. Reddit’s Help Center has no article we could find describing a daily limit or a take-a-break reminder in the app. What it does describe is notification settings, where you choose which notifications you receive. Turning notifications off can cut interruptions, but it isn’t a limit, so Screen Time is the built-in route.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I block Reddit on iPhone?

Reddit works in the app and in a browser, so block both. On iOS 27, set a limit on the app's category under Time Allowances, and block reddit.com under Apps & Websites. A partner holding the passcode makes it harder to undo.

Does Reddit have a daily time limit?

We couldn't find a Reddit help article describing a daily time limit or break reminder. Reddit's notification settings can reduce interruptions, but they aren't a limit. Use iPhone's Screen Time for a limit.

Why block both the Reddit app and the website?

Blocking only the app leaves reddit.com open in Safari, and blocking only the site leaves the app. Do both, or you'll just switch to the one you left open.
